Activations of the Villages on 11 M & PMR :
After the existence of IOTA, IWI, COTA, LOTA, FFF, POTA, SOTA, etc. and etc.!
Now the birth of 11M & PMR VOTA (Villages On The Air), this is an organizing committee, non-profit that collects neither grants nor dues.
We do not manage any cash, its members represented by all the activators, of all the groups Dx radio are totally volunteers.
Through our common passion, we want to discover and promote the rural heritage and its beautiful villages.
The VOTA committee works to promote, organize, manage,... the references and activations of VOTA (Villages On The Air)
on free bands (27Mhz and 446 Mhz) through the contest: "VOTA Tour which is open to all".
Definition of a Village :
For a long time, demographers (and the INSEE) have set a threshold that separates urban from rural and thus the city from the village.
Historically, any municipality with less than 2,000 inhabitants is considered a village.
Advantages of activating a VOTA:
The advantage of this activity is that at the same time and on the same site, in the same city, you can also combine, optimize and thus activate/validate
one and/or several references on the same activation!
Suppose, for example: that I am in Charente-Maritime, in department 17 on the village of Saint-Denis D'OLERON, on the Oléron Island,...I could very well
validate and activate at the same time the following 3 references below:
1) The village of Saint-Denis D'OLERON under reference VF-XXXXX as VOTA
2) The Island of Oléron being an IOTA under reference EU-032 as IOTA
3) The lighthouse of Chassiron on the village de Saint-Denis D'OLERON being a lighthouse under the reference FRA235 as LOTA,...
In concrete terms, that is to say:
If I activate the village of Saint-Denis D'OLERON in VOTA, for example, this activation will also be valid/valid for all other references (IOTA, LOTA, COTA, FFF, ...) if all the criteria are met!
